Weekend Special – We took a tour of France and Italy for our April Wine Club!
April 6 - April 7
Thanks for a great turnout at the Wine Club Member “Pick-Up” Party. We’re going to feature the Wine Club wines today and tomorrow for our Weekend Special so everyone can have a glass . . or try all three in a Flight.
Domaine de Vieil Orme – Sauvignon Blanc – France > Loire Valley. Fresh and vibrant with lime, grapefruit and a touch of limestone minerality. This wine spends four months maturing on the lees – giving it a bit of creaminess on the mouthfeel.
Chateau Les Terrasses de Bouey – Bordeaux Rouge – France > Bordeaux. The nose marries red fruit with a pleasant toast and roasted coffee tone. The palate delivers more of the same capped off with spice notes bordering on the exotic.
Mauro Molino – Dimartina Vino Rosso – Italy > Piedmont. A blend of Nebbiolo and Barbara from the Piedmont region along with a bit of Merlot and Cab. Maceration in contact with the grape skins for a full 4 days then fermented and aged in stainless steel.
The Weekend Special is available all day today and Saturday from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM.
Plus: This Months “If You Insist” Wine
We’ll also feature the April “If You Insist” wine: the 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon from Merryvale Winery in Napa.
Fresh berries on the nose with cherry, blueberry and raspberry. Vanilla, cinnamon and mint add depth and complexity for this age-worthy wine.
