June 2021 Wine Club Wines

It’s that time again – so head on over to pick up your June Wine Club. We’ve got Blanc’s . . Franc’s . . and you’ll learn about a Ripasso this month too!

St. Francis – Sauvignon Blanc – California > Sonoma. Leads with aromas of lemon zest and grapefruit. The palate shows freshly grated ginger, honeydew melon, subtle guava and snappy acidity.

Laroque – Cabernet Franc – France > Languedoc. Produced from vineyards near the ancient fortified city of Carcassonne in southern France. Combines red berry and vanilla with the minerality and dusty rose character of Cab Franc.

Ca’della Scala – Valpolicella Ripasso – Italy > Veneto. Ripasso is a winemaking method that uses a second fermentation of the grapes and skins to create a more complex wine. Freshly brewed black tea, dried herbs along with floral notes, red cherry and plum.

June’s “If You Insist” Wine Club:

2017 “The Conspirator” – Cabernet Sauvignon

California > Napa Valley > Oakville

From master winemaker Nick Goldschmidt this is a very limited production wine that uses fruit from the Oakville area in Napa.

Beautiful aromas of blackberry, Bing cherry and red fruit mingle with hints of lightly toasted oak along with violets, mixed berry and creamy mocha.

This Cabernet Sauvignon is approachable and delicious today – so you can enjoy it now . . or let it develop more fully over the next 10 to 12 years.
