Wine Club – October 2015

Primary Red Wine

Collosorbo – 2103 – Tuscan Red Blend

  •  Italy > Tuscany > Montalcino > Sant’ Antimo
  • Grapes:  70% Sangiovese, 20% Syrah, 5% Merlot, 5% Cab Sauv
  • Alcohol: 13.5%

Rich aromas of mixed berries and black cherry preserves.  Decadent red blend finishes with soft tannins, dark fruit and oak.

Primary White Wine

  Botani – 2012 – Dry Muscat

  • Spain
  • Grapes: Muscat
  • Alcohol: 14%

Fresh, fragrant and mature with the aroma of apple, mandarin orange and a pinch of wilted flowers.  Fruity and dry, with notes of citrus and a gentle finish.

Secondary Red Wine

Laya – 2013 – Red Blend

  • Spain
  • Grapes:  Grenache 70%,  Mouvedra 30%
  • Alcohol: 13.5%

Grenache is known for its deep color. Here it coats the glass and brings aromas of black fruits, licorice, espresso, and pepper. Dense, savory, rich and round.

Ghost Rider – 2104 – Red Blend

  •  California > Lodi
  • Grapes:  Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah, Syrah & Zinfandel
  • Alcohol: 14.1%

Rich aromas of mixed berries and black cherry preserves.  Decadent red blend finishes with soft tannins, dark fruit and oak.

Primary White Wine

  Bischofliche – 2011 – Riesling

  • Germany > Mosel
  • Grapes: Riesling
  • Alcohol: 11.5%

Aromas of lime, ripe gooseberry and pineapple. Medium bodied, off-dry, fruity wine, with refreshing acidity and a medium, slightly on the sweet side finish.

Primary Red Wine

Graffito 2013 Malbec

  •  Argentina
  • Grapes: Malbec
  • Alcohol: 14.4%

The palate balances red currant fruit and hints of black pepper with loads of mouth-coating ripe tannins that are common in old vine Malbecs. Finishes with smooth, lush tannins, ripe acidity and good length. The ultimate steak wine.

Primary White Wine

Rocca delle Macie 2013 Toscana

  • Italy > Tuscany
  • Grapes: Pinot Grigio 20%, Chardonnay 35%, Vermintino 30%
  • Alcohol: 12.5%

A straw-yellow color with intense aromas of white flowers with hints of flint.  On the palate you’ll get fresh mineral notes that blend perfectly with citrus notes.  Goes great with seafood dishes soft cheeses and white meats.

Secondary Red Wine

Errazuriz 2012 Pinot Noir

  • Chile
  • Grapes: 100% Pinot Noir
  • Alcohol: 13.5%

Aromas of red berries with light balsamic notes, rosemary, and a soft touch of damp earth and mushrooms. Medium bodied.  The  palate mimics the nose plus adds in some notes of dried fruits and toasted bread.

Primary Red Wine

Canchales 2011 RiojaCanchales 2011 Rioja

  •  Spain > Riojas
  • Grapes: Tempranillo
  • Alcohol: 13.5%

This 100% Tempranillo is made with a combination of stemmed and crushed grapes. The result is a soft and youthful red with cherry red color and a fresh and fruity profile. Light tannins and a caressing texture.

Primary White Wine

Puerta Vieja 2013 Rioja BlancoPuerta Vieja 2013 Rioja Blanco

  • Spain > Rioja
  • Grapes: Macabeo
  • Alcohol: 12.5%

Clean, bright, pale yellow-green. Aromas of limes and lemons with overtones of pineapple and some floral hints. Light on the palate with hints of a well-integrated acidity. Balanced finish with a pleasant floral aftertaste.

Secondary Red Wine

Blau 2013 Red BlendBlau 2013 Red Blend

  • Spain > Montsant
  • Grapes: Carignan 50%, Syrah 25%, Garnacha 25%
  • Alcohol: 12.5%

Brilliant ruby color. Lively red berry and Asian spice aromas with notes of mocha and licorice. Flavors of fresh raspberry and cherry with a touch of herbs. Finishes with lingering spiciness and a note of tangy berry.
