May 2021 Wine Club Wines

Just in time for Mother’s Day weekend we’ve got your May Wine Club ready for pickup. Not in the Wine Club yet ?? – this is a great time to try one or more of these tasty selections.

Jadix – Picpoul de Pinet – France > Languedoc. Literally translated, Picpoul means “stings the lip” – referring to this grape’s naturally sky-high acidity. Displays flavors of lemon and saline with white blossoms and wet stone.

Two Angels – Petite Sirah > California > Lake County. An avalanche of dark berry flavors with an undercurrent of clove and nutmeg. Pair this with big, bold foods such as pulled pork or a juicy burger loaded with bacon and blue cheese!

D’ Addario – Casale Ciliani Primitivo – Italy > Puglia. We call it Zinfandel – but in Italy it’s known as Primitivo. No matter how you say it – this wine gives notes of black cherry, plum and blackberry with hints of spice and almond fig on the finish.

May’s “If You Insist” Wine Club:

2017 Domaine Drouhin – Pinot Noir

Oregon > Willamette Valley > Dundee Hills

Fragrant nose of black cherries, berry bramble, orange peel, spices and a touch sweet oak.

Elusive and elegant – this wine is wonderful now but will be in a perfect place with 5 to 10 years of cellaring.
